Purpose of United Methodist Women
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
There are currently 3 circles within our United Methodist Women Fellowship for adult members. Each group meets monthly and has projects of its own, and also supports the general UMW and church programs. New members are always welcome and anyone may attend both adult circles, if desired.
Susanna Wesley Circle
Began as a "young mother's" group, with morning meetings to accommodate afternoon naps. The membership has grown to include women of all ages and interests. The group meets in the Taylor Room, at 9:30am on the 3rd Thursday of each month (except June-August) for coffee and a short program. Childcare is provided. Among the projects this circle is responsible for is the Mother/Daughter Event. This circle also "adopts" a family for Christmas, does Operation Christmas Child (shoe box) and Angel Tree (prison ministry). The chairperson is Tamara Young.
Waves of Grace
Established in 2004. This is an email circle and any woman may join. Direct any questions to the church office.
